Aarenet Technology Summit 2026 in Phu Quoc – Vietnam
While technology was at the heart of the summit, it was the exchange of perspectives and the strength of our partnerships that defined the experience.
Aarenet, in collaboration with katia.ch, offers an Artificial Intelligence powered call filtering system to block unwanted and bulk phone calls – especially those from telemarketers. The solution combines known spam number databases, operator-specific lists, and AI-based real-time analysis of call behavior.
In collaboration with katia.ch, Aarenet has implemented an AI-powered call filtering solution to effectively combat unwanted calls. When activated, the filter significantly reduces nuisance calls – particularly those generated by telemarketers.
Traffic analyses reveal that a high number of incoming calls are attributed to unwanted sources, including auto-dialer bots from telemarketers, advertising campaigns, and foreign-originated nuisance calls. The call filter provided by katia.ch leverages a comprehensive database of publicly known spam numbers, enhanced by real-time call pattern analysis from connected systems.
This dynamically updated list is seamlessly synchronized with the Aarenet switching platform. Incoming calls identified as suspicious can be automatically blocked or forwarded to a generic voicemail, preventing disruption to end users.
The filtering mechanism combines multiple intelligence sources including known malicious numbers from various databases, operator-specific spam lists, and AI-driven analysis of live call behavior. By continuously evaluating actual call patterns, the system can also detect number changes used by call centers, ensuring that new spam attempts are identified and integrated to the call filter without delay.
Aarenet and katia.ch have been working together since 2017 and the solution is implemented and active across the majority of Aarenet’s productive systems in Europe. With the addition of AI-powered enhancements, the solution has become even more robust, delivering substantially improved protection against unwanted calls. Analysis showed that with the active call filter up to 30% of all incoming call traffic will be blocked, resulting in a noticeably cleaner and more reliable calling experience.
